Rosemaling
Laid on first, like a ground colour: Rosemaling runs entirely offline. No account, no advertising, no analytics, no network. The designs you compose are written to your phone and to nowhere else.
Who is painting, and on what.

All of it is written into the app's private storage on the device. Nothing is uploaded: there is no account to attach it to and no server of ours to receive it. Android's own backup, where you have it enabled, may carry the same files into the copy Google keeps under your account, on Google's terms.
The lines that carry everything else.
Rosemaling asks the phone for nothing. No camera, no photo library, no location, no contacts, no files, no network. The wood grain, the linen and every motif are drawn by the app from its own code, which is why the studio works in a cabin with no signal.
No sign-in, no advertising identifier, no analytics library, no crash SDK of ours, no profiling. We cannot see how many pieces anyone has painted, or whether the app has been opened since the day it was installed.
Distribution runs through Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. Where a device shares usage and diagnostics with Google, aggregate crash and performance figures may reach our Play Console. Nobody is identifiable in them; they exist so faults can be found.
What belongs to whom, and to the youngest painters.
Every motif in the app is an original drawing made in the spirit of the tradition, not a copy of any painter's work. What you compose from them is your own: paint it on real wood, print it, sell the object you made. The motif drawings themselves stay ours and are not for redistribution as a design library.
Nothing is collected from anyone of any age, and there is no chat, no link out and nothing to buy: a quiet thing to hand to a child on a winter afternoon.
The app is a sketchpad, not a materials guide. Real rosemaling means oil or acrylic paint, mediums, solvents and varnish: read every label, ventilate the room, keep solvents and their fumes away from children and pets, and never leave oil-soaked rags in a heap, because they can catch fire on their own. An email brings us your address and your message, which we use to reply and to improve the app, relying on our legitimate interest in answering correspondence, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The thread is deleted within a year of our last reply unless the law requires us to keep it.
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability apply in full, though an email exchange is the only file we could produce. We answer within a month. Unsatisfied? Datatilsynet takes complaints in Norway at datatilsynet.no, and anyone living elsewhere in the EEA may go to their own supervisory authority.
Clearing the app's data in Android settings, or uninstalling it, removes the gallery, the names and the preferences together. No copy exists anywhere else, so a cleared gallery is gone: export or screenshot a piece you want to keep before you do it. This page is repainted, with a fresh date at the top, before any release that changes what the app does with data.
